Allegedly inspired by Ozzy Osbourne's song Suicide Solution, John McCollum killed himself in 1985. The media blamed
Ozzy and there was outrage from religious leaders and government officials. The teenager's parents even tried unsuccessfully
to sue Ozzy. Also in 1985 James Vance and Raymond Belknap shotgunned themselves in their heads because of supposed subliminal
messages in a Judas Priest song. Again, the artist was blamed, ostracized and hauled into court. When Eric Harris and Dylan
Klebold shot up their high school in 1999, they did it to please Marilyn Manson according to the news. The media-fed blame
game saw boycotts and cancelled tour dates. With all the fervor over these incidents I'd like to know why Al Gore is getting
a free pass for his role in the Discovery Channel hostage stand-off of 2010.
What? That's right. Al Gore
was a big inspiration for James Lee, the man who took hostages at the Discovery Communications headquarters in Silver Spring,
MD on September 1, 2010. Before being shot dead by the SWAT team, Mr. Lee, through blog posts and other rants, sited Al Gore's
fairy tale An Inconvenient Truth as a major spark in his raging inferno of eco-fascism. Shouldn't
our former Vice President be taking some shit for this? Also, if you consider Al Gore claims to have invented the internet
he should be held doubly responsible. Much of Lee's extremism was learned and disseminated through the world wide web.
In
the cases of Ozzy, Priest, and Manson an entertainer was blamed for the irrational acts of depressed and/or troubled people.
The media went crazy. Moral leaders called for boycotts and sanctions. There were even record burnings. It was all pretty
stupid, but I think the same witch-hunt principals should be applied to Al Gore. I'd like to see a bonfire of his DVDs. The
really ironic thing here is that his then wife was the driving force behind music censorship. Tipper Gore's PMRC was largely
responsible for the backlash against rock and heavy metal artists in the early 90's. Maybe now that he dumped her ass, she'll
start a campaign against him and other eco-warriors.
Despite the fact that An Inconvenient Truth
netted Al an Oscar and a Nobel Prize, it's a lie. This is not my opinion. That's a fact. The film is full of bogus information
and misleading statements. Scholars worldwide have pointed this out, though the mainstream media has chosen to ignore it.
The reality is, there is no proof that humans are causing global warming. There's not even any proof the planet is getting
warmer. If a complete load of bunk can make a person walk into a building with guns and bombs, I think it deserves some scrutiny.
Id
at least like the Discovery Channel incident to bring to light the extremist views of environmentalists. They claim they want
to save the planet, but what they really want to do is eliminate or reduce the population. According to them, man is destroying
the environment, so in order to save it, you have to get rid of the destructors. That's me and you. Lee's problem with the
Discovery Channel were the shows like Jon And Kate Plus 8 and 19 Kids And Counting which glorify families with
large numbers of children. He, like many eco-nuts, favor abortion and homosexuality over the family unit because they result
in no offspring. It's interesting to note that the same people that want to control the human population get bent out of shape
over programs to control wildlife populations.
In Mosquito, a story from my book Man Made Monsters, I created a character who wants to solve the human "problem" by introducing deadly viruses into overpopulated areas. Though
I'd like to take credit for this being a product of my imagination, I based the bad guy on a number of influential writers
and even the UN which advocates zero population growth. That is to say, a system where the number of live births equals the
number of deaths. Though it may sound noble, the methods to achieve ZPG are things that would make the Nazis blush. It makes
me wonder every time there is a sudden viral outbreak or a massive food contamination issue.
And
while we're on the subject of environmentalists, I don't understand why they aren't classified as home-grown terrorists. They
burn down housing developments and car dealerships. They disfigure loggers by driving metal spikes into trees that cause the
chainsaws to explode. They vandalize research facilities and attack fishing vessels. And oh yeah, they take over office buildings
with guns and explosives. Doesn't this sound like a terrorist organization to you?
Time and time
again we see a group of black muslims or white militiamen getting baited into discussing a plot they have neither the means
nor desire to commit. The next thing you know the news is aflame with these supposed terrorist pots that our gallant government
has thwarted. Of course, you never hear about the follow up because it's all bullshit. A bunch of drunken guys in Michigan
talking about overthrowing the government is hardly a sophisticated threat. However, the well-financed and coordinated attacks
of the environmentalist movement represents a very real problem. Why don't we go after them? Why does the media ignore it?
Eco-nuts
hate people. It's that simple. To them humanity is a problem that needs to be dealt with. That's how Al Gore feels and that's
how his protege James Lee felt. They want to convince us the planet is dying and that it is our fault. I say, go buy a big
American gas-guzzling SUV, fill it with your spawn, and tell Al Gore to go fuck himself.
