I apologize for not posting in the previous couple of weeks. I've been very busy with a variety of things. Most notably,
working on my new book. After a couple of collections of short stories I've decided to tackle a novel. I'm not abandoning
the short story altogether, I just wanted the challenge of working in the longer form. I will still continue my series of
themed horror collections after I get this beast out of my head.
The novel itself is yet untitled
and I'm hesitant to give out any details. I can say it is an epic tale of extreme violence. It has elements of horror and
sci-fi but I think it would fall under action/adventure or maybe even crime/mystery. Though I seriously doubt mystery aficionados
will appreciate my graphic style of writing. I suppose I should streamline my explanation of the book because publishers hate
to hear about stuff that falls under multiple genres. I can't help it. I write what I write. I never set out to appeal to
a certain demographic or to crank out something that follows a current popular trend.
In any case,
the novel is coming along just fine. I'm about a third of the way through and this thing is just flying out of my finger tips
and on to the keyboard. It's based on a few stories I've had floating around my head for years. One day I just woke up and
realized all these stories were connected and the next thing I knew there were 100 pages on my hard drive. Yeah, I said it
was epic. I'm estimating this will be twice the size of either of my two previous books.
I will keep
you guys posted as I move along in the process. I may even give out a little taste before I submit it to my publisher, because
cryptoamerican.com readers are awesome. How's that for pandering? Keep checking back.
