On June 9, 2011 Acid Uprising performed live at the Park Bar and Grill in Burbank, CA. It may not seem like that big of deal,
but it was. As you may or may not know, our practice space burned down in June and one of our guitarists left the band. Those
were some dark days and I really thought the band was done. Somehow we pulled our shit together and managed to continue on
and I feel like we are stronger than ever.
The show itself was not monumentous, in that it was
at a sports bar. You can see the big screen over my head in the video. The band that played before us played all covers exclusively
from the set list of the video game "Guitar Hero", but they had quite a few fans. As soon as we started playing, they started
running for the door. I guess our brand of metal is a little too extreme for the delicate ears of people that pay 5 bucks
to see middle-aged men butcher G 'n R and Def Leppard tunes. A couple songs in and the drunken regulars were stumbling towards
the door. By the time we finished, all that was left was our friends. That's okay though, we kicked ass and proved we're still
a great band. And the best part...we actually got paid. Sure it was only 42 dollars, but that's better than most bands do
in SoCal.
