10/4/10 - Narcolepsy Part I
This is part one of "Narcolepsy" a story from my first book Man Made Monsters. It is a tale of drugs and redemption wrapped in a zombie apocalypse. Check back each Monday for a new installment.
They were not men anymore. Their will had been broken. They had been stripped of their humanity. They were
scarred skin stretched over bone, nothing more. A look into the eyes of these empty vessels gave no hint as to what they once
were. Most lay in unnatural positions, twitching and moaning, too weak to rise. For a while, the ones who could walk shuffled
their skeletal remains aimlessly, oblivious to the chaos around them. Then, they all started to die. Not from bullets. Not
from fire. These shattered men simply had no more life left in them. (read more)

10/1/10 - Halloween Horrorshow
We sure do love Halloween at stately Anderson Manor. We just got done decorating the house and I figured why not do the
same thing with my website. For the entire month of October cryptoamerican.com will be dedicated to all things horror. Every
post, every ad, everything. Plus I have lots of cool surprises to celebrate the season of scaring. The first big thing is
the awesome sale I'm having on my books. You can get both Cryptic Creatures and Man Made Monsters for $14.99. That's two terrifying
books for one low price. Visit the store for more details. (read more)

9/28/30 - List: Upset The System
People boycott things for a variety of reasons. It could be they disagree with the way a company does business or a government's
policies. Generally it is a form of activism by which the participant stops buying a product or refuses to to do business
with an organization. The overall goal is to affect change though economic starvation. Money talks. I have a friend that will
not buy anything unless it's made in the USA and I respect her very much for that. It got me thinking about my own personal
boycotts. It turns out I have a lot of them, though they are for much stranger reasons than most. Check out my efforts to
stick it to the man. (read more)

9/28/10 - Squid Word
I don't consider myself to be all that tech or net savvy, but I've had to learn a few things to get this site going.
There's no point in doing this if I can't get people visiting. Unfortunately, most of the things I have to do to get the word
out seem kind of stupid. I joined a bunch of social networking sites to increase my on-line presence, but really I hate them.
Even worse are the social bookmarking places like del.ico.us and Digg. I can't for the life of me figure out what their purpose
is or why people waste their time. Recently, I stubbled on Squiddo. It's no less stupid than the other sites, but it's actually
pretty fun. (read more)

9/25/10 - Book Trailer
Wow, two video posts in a row. It's a dream come true for those of you that can't read. Don't get used to it. I don't
anticipate too many more videos in the future. It would seem that my publisher has created a video trailer for my book Cryptic Creatures and posted it to Youtube. Check it out and let me know what you think. (watch video)

9/22/10 - Corn Fed 'n Inbred
And now for something completely different. I recently found an animated trailer I wrote a few years back. It was for
a TV show I had developed. It's about a bunch of backwards-ass country bumpkins that get drunk and have sex with sheep and
their cousins. So if you dig beastiality and incest, and who doesn't, check it out. (watch video)

9/21/10 - Summer Of Metal
It's the last day of summer and I figured it was about time I got around to reviewing the seasons metal festivals. We
don't get the uber-fests like they do in Europe, but America does see some decent multi-band tours. I skipped Warped
this year, but made it to Mayhem, Ozzfest, and Uproar. Each had their strengths
and weakness, but all provided an affordable metal experience. (read more)

9/20/10 - Full Frontal Liberty
The good folks at nakedliberty.com have posted my article God Bless The Congress in their latest blog carnival. It's a great political website that places an emphasis on the core values our country was
founded on. If liberty, justice and Constitutional principals get your blood flowing, visit the link below:

9/15/10 - Porcupine Ghosts
A nonprofit group calling themselves the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine will be airing an anti-McDonalds
ad in the Washington DC area soon. I saw the spot on Headline News and I though t was way over the top. Basically, there is
a dead guy covered in a sheet laying on a slab in the morgue. It looks like he has a Big Mac in his hand. The camera moves
around to the dead man's feet and then the iconic Golden Arches appear with the words: "I was lovin' it." And then the ad
gets really psychotic. A voicer over commands: "High cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart attacks. Tonight, make it vegetarian."
A ha. This is not an ad for healthy living. It's a wacko animal rights spot. (read more)

9/9/10 - An Inconvenient Gory Truth
Allegedly inspired by Ozzy Osbourne's song Suicide Solution, John McCollum killed himself in 1985. The media
blamed Ozzy and there was outrage from religious leaders and government officials. The teenager's parents even tried unsuccessfully
to sue Ozzy. Also in 1985 James Vance and Raymond Belknap shotgunned themselves in their heads because of supposed subliminal
messages in a Judas Priest song. Again, the artist was blamed, ostracized and hauled into court. When Eric Harris and Dylan
Klebold shot up their high school in 1999, they did it to please Marilyn Manson according to the news. The media-fed blame
game saw boycotts and cancelled tour dates. With all the fervor over these incidents I'd like to know why Al Gore is getting
a free pass for his role in the Discovery Channel hostage stand-off of 2010. (read more)

8/31/10 - God Bless The Congress
The economy is in the crapper. Unemployment continues to rise. Foreclosures are reaching epic proportions. The trade
deficit grows. The dollar is worthless. We are overrun with illegal immigrants that drain what little resources we have. But
never mind all that. Congress has finally taken some action to set things right. Earlier this month they stuck it to that
steroid-using bastard Roger Clemens. I will sleep better knowing my government is on the job. (read more)

8/31/10 - Wordsmith: A Triple List
As a writer, words are my building blocks. Like Legos they are integral in allowing me to construct my monstrous houses
of insanity. Like anything else, I have ones I like and ones I dislike. Over the years I have developed a hatred for certain
words. I know it seems weird, but that's just how I am. For August, I have complied a list of words I think should be permanently
removed from the English language. Also, because I'm all about value, I have come up with a secondary list of new words that
should be added to our vocabulary. But wait, if you act now, there's a third list of words that I think kick major ass. (read more)

8/27/10 - Good News For Cheap Bastards
A few years ago I submitted my first book Man Made Monsters to Googlebooks. It was supposed to make the pages
of my book searchable and be available for purchase as an e-book. I never heard back from them and sort of forgot about the
whole thing. I just did a search and lo and behold, it's up on their site. However, it looks like they've just made it available
to read for free. I guess I should have read the terms a little more closely. It's no big deal. That book has pretty much
done all the business it's going to do and I really just want people to read my work. If you are interested in reading some
killer horror for free, click the link below.
