The third game of the tournament had the Ventura Mariners bantam Killer Bees taking on the Chandler Polar Bears. Due
to a prior comitment, I was unable to attend. Killian hates to miss a game and never wants to let his teammates down, but
there were mitigating circumstances (more on that later). Kim Becica was nice enough to text us the score, so I know the boys
lost 6-2. From what I've been able to gather with my Sherlock Holmes-like sleuthing ability, the boys played well against
a big, fast, physical team from Arizona. I know Tyler Forest and Conor Gleason scored the two goals. Brian Zacchia let me
know that he played brilliantly and who am I to argue with a kid that has such an awesome first name? I also heard Mark Becica
looked nice between the pipes.
I know the big question on everyone's mind is: how was the Metal
Masters show? Answer: Un-freakin'-believable! Black Sabbath is my all-time favorite band and it was just awesome to watch
them perform and to share that with my son. For a 68 year old elf, Ronnie James Dio still has the most powerful pipes in the
business. They brought the house down with an extended version of "Heaven And Hell". Judas Priest also kicked some serious
butt. Rob Halford rode out onto the stage on his trademark Harley and crushed everyone with "Hell Bent For Leather". We unfortunately
missed Testament and only got to see Motorhead play one song, but the concert was an experience for the ages. I'm hoarse,
my neck hurts from banging my head, and I spent 100 bucks on beer. How can you beat that?
